Dear Parents

After my only son, Hunter went to heaven in the summer of 2005, my youngest daughter Camryn (six years old at the time) began to write about all the things she was feeling during the most difficult season of her young life. She had a really cool colorful notebook where she daily penned all of her writings. Cam wrote often and eventually she and I decided to call her writings Hot Chocolate with God.

Hot Chocolate with God became a testimony of the love and grace of God working in and through a young girl’s broken heart. The heart of what Camryn wrote and continues to write is at the heart of this web-site. Cam would be quick to tell you that her faith in God gives her the daily hope and encouragement she needs as she presses on in this life. While she and her older sister Erin are typical girls navigating through the perils of the “tween” and teenage years – they love and believe in a not so typical God who is doing amazing things in their lives. Because their faith is so central to who my daughters are – they are eager and excited to encourage other girls in their faith as well.

Like most “tweens” and teenagers my girls enjoy surfing the Internet. As their mother, and the gatekeeper of all social media, I’ve found that there’s really not much out there that’s safe and at the same time fun, exciting, encouraging and educational. I really don’t want to have to look over their shoulders every time they sit down at the computer. Don’t you agree? I long for my girls to be able to navigate through the media world with confidence. This is hard – what’s a mother to do?

Hot Chocolate with God – this web-site – is the answer to what I’ve been searching for – for my daughters. It’s fun and girlie. It’s encouraging. It’s safe. And it’s about Him! I want you to know that your girls are in safe hands here. I’m trusting that God is going to use this web-site in profound ways…doing immeasurably more than we could ever ask or imagine.

Our desire for all who navigate and spend time here is that they will leave with more – more life, love, hope…more of what really matters in this life – more of Jesus.

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to be a part of your daughter’s life in a small but very profound way.

God is so good.

With great joy & anticipation,

Jill Kelly
