It’s so encouraging to read what other people are saying about HCWG!
But, we know where all of this good news comes from – from the heart of God – of course. The really cool thing is that this is what we prayed for and what we continue to pray for – for every single girl that would read Hot Chocolate with God. It’s always been about the reader! That she would know and believe how special and unique she is. And that she would Know and Love GOD more!
Check out what others are saying:
“I bought my 9-year-old daughter this book today and she literally has not put it down! She loves it! It is geared perfectly toward “Tweens” but it doesn’t feel phony, like an adult wrote it to appeal to a kid. Just very sweet and genuine.
It is so hard to find books that have substance. So many books are all about looks or popularity. This one goes deeper and digs a little more into what makes these gals tick. It provokes girls on the cusp of being little ladies to talk about where they came from and where they want to go. It’s not all about boys and being cool… or my least favorite for obvious reasons… how dumb and annoying parents are like most books and t.v. push.
Well done! Great book! Hope to hear more from Miss Kelly in the future!”
“This is a cute, fun book for girls. I gave this to my 9-year-old daughter Becca – ok, she saw it and grabbed it from me and ran off with it if you want to know the truth. I had told her I thought she would like it and she was gone with it. The book has lots of questions to answer and word finds and places to put photos and tips and advice and a website to go with it. Becca has enjoyed filling it out with pens that have glittery ink and I have enjoyed that some of the questions are worded so that she has to ask me to answer them with her. We like the “hallelujah test” of whether a shirt is long enough – put your hands in the air and shout hallelujah, but Becca is tall and long waisted and she often fails that test. She likes the website too and is enjoying reading and filling out the book.
This is not a novel or story, but a book full of questionnaires, and short bits of info. Becca is not through filling it out, and that is fine. I like that it is kind of like a diary and she enjoys filling it out a little bit at a time.
I highly recommend the book and think it is well done and fun for girls.”
“My daughter did 23 pages the first day! She is 8 years old and thinks the book is awesome. The book is FULL of activities and is written to get girls thinking and writing creatively. This book would work well for a Girls Church Group, Girls Book Club, and Besties (I learned that word in the book :)”
